About Me

Hello there! I'm Jolene. I'm never sure what exactly to put on these pages. Well, here goes.

Terry Pratchett is my favorite author. There is a entire bookshelf in my house just for him.

My favorite genres are Humorous Fantasy, Historical Fantasy, Fairy Tale Retellings, Manga, and YA. I don't step outside those genres very often, but I am trying to change that.

I'm a serial re-reader when it comes to my favorite books.

I'm a huge fan of anything to do with cats.

When I'm not reading I'm probably playing board games, or watching Rifftrax, BBC tv shows, Korean dramas, Anime, or really bad horror movies

I own an obscene amount of socks. I'll admit, I'm a little obsessed. They've taken over my dresser and have started to invade my husband’s.

I’m always happy to lend anyone in the US Kindle books. You can see them on my Kindle Lendable shelf. Until Booklikes set up a PM system, you can contact me at Goodreads.

I'm told my love of books started at age two. Apparently this is when I started demanding a story be read to me every night. Thankfully, my grandparents complied and nurtured my love of the written word. I still remember the excitement and pride I felt at reading a book all by myself for the first time. Mr. Don Freeman will always have the special place in my heart. It was his Book Corduroy that started my journey into reading.

I have moved on from Teddy Bears (for the most part), but I have not moved on from reading. I make a point to read at least two hours everyday, even if that means loosing a little sleep. I have just started reviewing in the past few years. My reviews still aren't anywhere near as good as a full time reviewer, but I've noticed growth in them. I am now trying to review at least 2/3 of the books I read.
